Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Torque wrench kit -SAT 8010-
  L00-10226
t  Lever -U 30800-
t  Removal → Anchor
t  Installing → Anchor
Removal
–  Remove the interior lining from the door: → Bodywork, interior assembly work; Rep. Gr.70
  Note
If power window motor cannot be operated, proceed as described in → Chapter.
–  Temporarily connect the power window switch connectors to the door control unit and turn the ignition key to the contact position.

–  Pry off caps -2- with lever -U 30800- and move window until screws -1- for fastening power window clamping jaws are visible through opening in door unit sub-frame.. Loosen screws -1- to separate power window clamping jaws and then move ignition key out of contact position.

–  Tip rear portion of window -1- toward front in -direction of arrow- thereby lifting carefully and remove from window guide -2-.
Installing
  E64-10240
–  Check whether screws -1- for fastening power window clamping jaws are visible through opening in door unit sub-frame.. If necessary move power window mechanism.

–  Carefully insert window -1- in -direction of arrow- into window guide -2-. Check whether window is seated correctly in window guide.

–  Press window in -direction of arrow- against upper edge of door frame.
–  Allow window to slide down and press slightly in direction of -arrows- to ensure that:
t  it is properly seated in the power window clamping jaws and

t  in complete contact with the window guide.

–  Tighten screws -1- to fasten power window clamping jaws.
t  Tightening torque: 10 Nm.
–  Check to ensure that power window system functions correctly → Anchor.
Window in front door: Check for proper function
Follow instructions below:
–  Temporarily connect the power window switch connectors to the door control unit and turn the ignition key to the contact position.
–  Actuate appropriate switches to move window up and down and check whether window moves easily and properly.
l  If the window moves normally, continue installation. → Anchor
l  If the window does not move normally adjust as specified in the instructions below:

–  Move window until screws -1- for fastening power window clamping jaws are visible through opening in door unit sub-frame.. Loosen screws -1- to separate power window clamping jaws.
–  Allow window to slide down and press slightly in direction of -arrows- to ensure that:
t  it is properly seated in the power window clamping jaws and

t  in complete contact with the window guide.
  E64-10258
–  Tighten screws -1- to fasten power window clamping jaws.
t  Tightening torque: 10 Nm.
–  Close caps -2-.
–  Check again for correct operation. → Anchor
Continue installation observing following:
t  Perform operation for synchronising and storing window operation only when no further manipulations are required → Chapter.
t  Check tightening torques. → Chapter
