| Before removing (touching) the airbag unit, it is necessary for the mechanic to discharge his body electrostatically. This can be accomplished by touching any earthed metal parts /e.g. water pipe, heating pipe or metal supports). |

| Before disconnecting the connectors, mark them to avoid confusion when refitting. |

| Before working on the electrical system, disconnect the battery earth strap. |

| After connecting the battery, check the vehicle equipment (radio, clock, electric windows, etc.) according to the instructions in the Repair Manual and / or the Operating Instructions. |

| Turn off the ignition and all electricity consumers. |

| Detach the side lining in the boot → Chapter. |
