Recoil ring with friction ring: fitting
Recoil ring with friction ring: fitting
Install in reverse order. The following should be taken into account:

Manually adjust, using bolt-3-, the spacing -a- between the steering wheel -1- and the friction ring -2-.
1 - Steering wheel
2 - Friction ring
3 - Combined switch clamp bolt
a - 1 mm
  Note
If the steering wheel turn angle sender -G85- is integrated in the recoil ring with friction ring -F138- (vehicles with ESP), after the mounting work of the steering column combined switch you should perform the steering turn angle sender basic adjustment.
–  If necessary, perform the basic adjustment of the steering turn angle sender -G85- :
  A48-0128
–  Connecting the central diagnosis -VAS 505X-.
–  Select “Guided fault finding” on the central diagnosis -VAS 505X-.
–  In the first place select “Functions and components selection” by way of the keyboard “Go to ” and then:
t  Running gear
t  Brake system
t  01 - Self-diagnostic system Bosch 8.0
t  Antilocking system of brakes ABS/EDS/ASR/ESP
t  Uses
t  Basic adjustment steering turn angle -G85
  WARNING
Carry out a trial run and if there are internal noises, readjust spacing -a-.
