t  Torque wrench kit -SAT 8010-
  L00-10226
t  Vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system -VAS 505X-
Removal:
  WARNING
Observe safety precautions for working on airbags and side airbags → Chapter.
–  Remove the side padding of the rear seat with airbag → Chapter.
  W00-1236
–  Remove bolts -2-.
–  Take out side airbag module -1-.

Installation
–  Install the airbag unit -1- in the side padding.
–  Tighten the bolts -2- to 7 Nm.
–  Install the side padding of the rear seat with airbag → Anchor.
–  switch ignition on.
  WARNING
The battery must be connected with the ignition switched on. If pyrotechnic components (e.g. airbag or belt tensioner) are inexpertly repaired, this may result in unwanted triggering after connecting the battery. There must not be anyone in the vehicle while you are connecting the battery.
–  Connect the earth wire of the battery → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27.
  Note
t  Observe measures which have to be taken after connecting the battery → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27.
t  If the airbag warning lamp -K75- indicates a fault following installation, use the vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system -VAS 505X- to read-out, erase and then re-read the fault memory.
