Removing and installing backrest
  Note
Removal and installation is described for the left seat. Apply the same instructions for removal and installation of the right seat as appropriate.
Removing
–  Attach seat repair stand -VAS 6136- to engine and gearbox support -VAS 6095-.
–  Remove seat → Chapter.
–  Fasten seat on seat repair stand -VAS 6136-.
–  Remove backrest mechanism trims → Chapter.
   
–  Release backrest and fold forwards a little.
–  Undo screws -1- and -2- and remove backrest.
  Note
t  The screws -1- and -2- are micro-encapsulated and must be replaced when seat cushion is installed.
t  The corresponding threads should be cleaned, for example, with a suitable wire brush, before fitting the new screws.

Installing
–  Install in reverse order of removal.
