| – | Cut insulation and roof reinforcements -1- (vehicles without panorama sliding roof) or -2- (vehicles with panorama sliding roof) into approx. 9 cm wide strips -3--dot-dash lines-, using a carpet knife. |
| – | Pull strips -3- from roof. |
| – | Cut back adhesive residue -4- using an electric cutter -V.A.G 1561 A- and cutting blade -V.A.G 1561/20--5-. |
Note| If paint structure has been damaged on removal of the insulation/roof reinforcements, repair paint damage according to guidelines of → Paint workshop manual. |

Note| Observe adhesive processing instructions when installing insulation and roof reinforcements. |
| – | Use hand cartridge gun -V.A.G 1628- to apply D 190 MKD A3 adhesive to insulation and roof reinforcement -1- (vehicles without panorama sliding roof) or -2- (vehicles with panorama sliding roof). |
| – | Apply adhesive in beads. |

| – | Press insulation and roof reinforcements fully onto roof. |
