  Note
t  The lock carrier is a safety-relevant component; as a result, it must not be repaired.
t  If damaged, the lock carrier must be renewed.
   
–  Move lock carrier -1- to service position → Chapter.
–  Disconnect electrical connectors.
–  Disconnect hoses for charge air cooler (specific engine variants only).
–  Drain coolant and disconnect coolant lines → Engine cooling system; Rep. gr.19.
–  Separate condenser from lock carrier → Heating, ventilation, air conditioning system; Rep. gr.87.
–  Vehicles with automatic gearbox with ATF coolers, remove ATF lines → Automatic gearbox; Rep. gr.37.
–  With a second mechanic, remove special tool -T 10093- and lift out lock carrier -1-.
  WARNING
Repair work on the refrigerant circuit must be performed only in appropriate workshops by trained personnel → Heating, air conditioning system; Rep. gr.87.
Do not start the engine if the air conditioning system and/or the coolant system lines are disconnected.
Do not hang condenser and hydraulic oil cooler from lines.
Do not kink condenser and hydraulic lines.
