Adjusting height of rear lid
Adjusting height of rear lid
–  Remove upper D-pillar trim → General body repairs, interior; Rep. gr.70.
–  Pull down rear section of moulded headliner to loosen and tighten bolts. In doing so, do not kink the headliner.
–  Remove gas-filled strut for rear lid: → Chapter.
   
–  Unscrew the cross-head screw -2- on the left and right and then remove cover for guide pins -1-.
–  Unscrew left and right guide pins.

–  Loosen hexagon nuts -1- of the hinges in the rear of the roof cross member (do not unscrew completely).
  N55-0041
–  Have a second mechanic lift rear lid so that outer contour -arrows- is aligned and tighten hexagon nuts of hinges to 23 Nm.
–  Check gaps and shut lines with gauge 3371 and adjust → Rep. gr.00.
–  Tighten left and right guide pins.
–  Install gas-filled struts.
–  Adjust guide pins → Chapter.
