  Note
Renewing scuff protection film is described only for the front left side. The procedures for the rear left side and the front and rear right side are analogous.
   
–  Heat front protective film -1- using a hot air blower -V.A.G 1416- and pull protective film -1- from front sill.
–  Clean assembly area with adhesive remover -D 002 00 10-.
l  Assembly area must be free of dirt and grease.
l  Remove protective backing only immediately before installation of scuff protection film -1-. Working temperature approx. 20 °C.
–  Position scuff protection film -1- an press it smooth using a plastic blade wrapped in a soft paper towel.
