| Press catches -arrows- on both sides and push key-operated switch to deactivate front passenger side airbag -E224--2- through cover. |

| Before handling pyrotechnic components (e.g. connecting the electrical connector), the person handling them must ensure that he/she is „electrically discharged“. for example by briefly grasping hold of door striker plate. |

| Installation is carried out in the reverse sequence; note the following: |

| Make sure electrical connectors are correctly fitted and engage with a click. |

| Ensure that no cables are trapped. |

| Ensure that key-operated switch to deactivate front passenger airbag -E224- audibly engages in cover. |
WARNING | The battery must be connected with the ignition switched on. If pyrotechnic components (e.g. airbag or belt tensioner) are inexpertly repaired, this may result in unwanted triggering after connecting the battery. There must not be anyone in the vehicle while you are connecting the battery. |

Note | If the airbag warning lamp -K75- indicates a fault following installation, the event memory must be read, cleared and then read again → Vehicle diagnostic tester. |
