| Make sure that securing clip -A- is pressed all the way down and properly seated. |

| Change the gear selector lever from position „P“ to „S“. |

| Check the protective cover for damage, on the front section of the selector lever cable, replacing the cable if necessary. |

| Put the gear selector lever into position „P“. |

| The gear selection mechanism and the selector lever cable should not be hard when changing gear; if necessary, replace the selector lever cable or repair the gear selector mechanism → Chapter. |

| Move the selector rod shaft to „"P"“. |
| –
| Make both front wheels turn, e.g. by moving the vehicle forwards, until the gearbox lever engages in the parking block gear and the wheels are locked (they can no longer be turned simultaneously in the same direction). |
Note | The selector lever in the selector mechanism must remain in „P“ position when clamping bolt -B- is loosened, otherwise the adjustment will not be correct. |

| Carefully move the selector lever forwards and backwards slightly without engaging another gear. |
Note | The selector lever cable is then relieved of stress. |
| –
| Tighten bolt -B- without jerking (tightening torque: 13 Nm) is located behind the plug. |
Note | On tightening the bolt -B- ensure that the selector lever cable does not move. |
| Adjusting selector lever cable: verification |

| From position „P“ and with the button pressed in, pull the selector lever back approximately 5 mm and hold in this position, without engaging „R“. |
| –
| Release the selector lever. |

| The selector lever should spring back into „P“ position automatically. |
| –
| If necessary, adjust selector lever → Chapter. |
| –
| Switch the selector lever to the „N“ position. |
| –
| From position „N“ and with the button pressed in, pull the selector lever back approximately 5 mm and hold in this position, without engaging „D“. |
| –
| Release the selector lever. |

| The selector lever should spring back into „N“ position automatically. |
| –
| If necessary, adjust selector lever → Chapter. |
| –
| From position „N“ and with the button pressed in, push the selector lever forwards approximately 5 mm and hold in this position, without engaging „R“. |
| –
| Release the selector lever. |

| The selector lever should spring back into „N“ position automatically. |
| –
| If necessary, adjust selector lever → Chapter. |
| –
| Perform installation of all components in reverse sequence. |
