Special tools, testers and auxiliary items

• ◆ Fault reader V.A.G 1551 or vehicle system tester V.A.G 1552 with cable V.A.G 1551/3

Check conditions

• ● Fuse 15 OK.
• ● Battery voltage at least 11 V
• ● Authorized vehicle key required

Work sequence

• ‒ → Lever cover -1- or ashtray housing out from centre console.
• ‒ Connect fault reader or system tester using cable V.A.G 1551/3 to diagnosis connections
• ‒ Switch on ignition.
• ‒ Operate fault reader taking into account the information on the display:
• ‒ Press key 1 for "Rapid data transfer".
• ‒ Press keys 2 and 5 for address word "Immobilizer" and confirm entry with Q key.
• ‒ Press ⇒key.

• ‒ Press keys 1 and 0 for the function "Adaptation" and confirm entry with Q key.

• ‒ Press keys 0 and 0 for "Channel number 00" and confirm entry with Q key.

• ‒ Confirm entry with Q key.

• ‒ Press ⇒key.
• ‒ Press keys 0 and 6 for the "End data transfer" function and confirm input with the Q key.
• ‒ Switch off ignition.

Note:

The identity of the engine control unit is read into the immobilizer control unit when next switching the ignition on.
