Autoclima self-diagnosis, electrical checking
  Note!
The air conditioner adjustment is still operative during self-diagnosis.
Working
The Autoclima control and handling unit -J255- is separate from the indicator unit -E87-, and they are connected through the radio.
The control unit -J255- and the visualising front -E87- (display) receives the information from the electrical and electronic components (information transmitters), which is processed along the theoretical values.
The control unit outlet signals excite the electrical components (activators).
To be able to locate the cause quickly, should a component have a fault or a cable be broken, the control and indication unit is fitted with a fault memory that may be consulted using a fault reader -V.A.G. 1551- or with the vehicle system checker -V.A.G. 1552-.
If there are faults in the sensors or supervised components, these faults are stored in the fault memory with indication of the fault type.
Should a fault have been memorised that directly affects the working of the Autoclima, the indication unit display -E87- will blink for some 15 seconds after ignition. The control unit of the Autoclima can keep the working of the emergency programme stable for all faults.
To begin to locate faults, the self-diagnosis must be started and the information memorised with the -V.A.G 1551- must be consulted.
By means of a fault table, the information on faults leads us to indications on the possible causes and to more precise repair measures.
