Check the heating performance of the air conditioning
Check the heating performance of the air conditioning
  Note!
t  Following filling If the coolant circuit is not purged of air, this air will collect in the heat exchanger reducing its heating potential; there may also be noise produced or the client will notice different temperatures in the air coming from the passenger and driver side vents.
t  Remedy
t  Make a long test run with a high engine speed (at least 10 minutes, engine speed above 2,500 rpm). Choose low gears so that the vehicle speed is not too high.
t  If the customer claims that there is a poor heating potential at certain engine speeds, check the fitting of the heat exchanger in the air conditioning in the coolant circuit. If the two coolant hoses (supply and return) have been mixed up, the coolant will flow in the wrong direction through the heat exchanger → Engine, mechanics; Rep. Gr.19.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
