Connecting diagram of different rinsing circuits
  Note
t  The arrows in the illustrations indicate the flow of refrigerant during rinsing (during rinsing, the refrigerant flows in the opposite direction to normal air-conditioning operation and for this reason the high-pressure side of the air-conditioning service station is connected to the low pressure side of the refrigerant circuit going to the compressor)
t  These basic circuit diagrams show a refrigerant circuit with a hose clip and collector tank and a refrigerant circuit with an expansion valve, liquid tank and second evaporator (optional additional equipment for certain vehicles)
t  Depending on the architecture of the air-conditioning service station, there may be retention valves between the refrigerant circuit and the air-conditioning service station (in order to establish the correct direction of refrigerant flow for rinsing)

Rinsing circuit with electric compressor
When replacing the electric compressor without mechanical error (e.g. defective board), you have to determine the amount of refrigerant oil of the electric compressor.
Amount determined, e.g. 50 cm³
A new compressor will be filled with 150 cm³ refrigerant oil.
–  Pour off 90 cm³ with a new electric compressor. 10 cm³ are extra.
  Note
t  In order for the refrgierant oil to drain from the electric compressor, that latter must be rinsed.
t  This schematic diagram shows a refrigerant circuit with electric compressor.

1 - Air conditioner service station
  Note
Rinsing the electric compressor is carried out manually.
–  In event of refrigeran residues, extract them.
–  Empty the oil tank used by the air conditioning service station.
  Note
With its own air conditioning service station, first the oil is separated in the vacuum phase and then stored in the oil tank.
–  Adjust the amount of refrigerant on the air conditioning service station to 2 kg and oil quantity to 0.
–  Install the flushing kit for refrigerant circuits -VAS 6336/1- or the flushing kit for refrigerant circuits -VAS 6337/1- between the air conditioning service station and the refrigerant return line.
–  Allow the refirgerant to drain for 10 minutes. Then observe the vacuum indicator. If the vacuum is sustained, fill the circuit with 2 kg refrigerant R134a. Then extract the refrigerant, drin and repeat the procedure.
2 - Refrigerant line of the air conditioning service station
q   of the vacuum side of the air-conditioning service station (normally blue) to the outlet of the rinsing equipment for the refrigerant circuit
3 - Rinsing device for refrigerant circuits
q   Different versions and different design e.g. flushing kit for refrigerant circuits -VAS 6336/1- or flushing kit for refrigerant circuits -VAS 6337/1-.
q   with filter, observation window, safety valve, refrigerant reservoir, etc. (depending on version)
q   Depending on the air-conditioning service station and architecture and the refrigerant circuit rinsing equipment, there may be a retention valve fitted to the output of the refrigerant circuit rinsing equipment.
4 - Filling tube for refrigerant circuit rinsing equipment
q   From connecting the high-pressure side of the compressor at refrigerant circuit (smaller diameter) to inlet of the flushing kit for refrigerant circuits -VAS 6336/1- or flushing kit for refrigerant circuits -VAS 6337/1-.
5 - Adapter for the connection of the high-pressure side of the refrigerant circuit.

6 - High-pressure side of the electric compressor refrigerant line
–  Remove the centring pin.
7 - Electric compressor
8 - Low-pressure side of the electric compressor refrigerant line
–  Remove the centring pin.
9 - Adapter for the connection of the low-pressure side of the refrigerant circuit.
q   Adapter kit for VW / Audi commercial vehicle refrigerant circuits -VAS 6338/1-Adapter no. 6338/6.
10 - Refrigerant line of the air conditioning service station
