  Note
First remove rear left side trim. → Rep. Gr.70
   
1 - Additional heat exchanger and rear control button -E312-
2 - Rear heated air control
q   Left side in moulded headlining close to B-pillar
q   With warm air blower switch -E100-
q   With interior rear temperature potentiometer -G275-
q   Removing → Chapter
3 - Housing for heating and ventilation for rear seats, intake side
q   Assemble with clips
q   Removing → Fig.
4 - Temperature flap for passenger compartment
5 - Heat exchanger for rear seats
6 - Housing for heating and ventilation for passenger compartment, vent side
q   Assemble with clips
q   Removing → Fig.
7 - Series resistor for warm air blower -N72-
q   Replacing → Fig..
8 - Rear warm air blower -V47-
q   Checking: → Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051
q   Removing: first remove moulded trim for rear left side wall → Rep. Gr.70
9 - Rear temperature flap control motor -V137-
q   Checking: → Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051
q   Removing and installing → Fig.
10 - Coolant hoses
q   Bleed coolant circuit after working on it
q   Bleeding → Rep. Gr.19

   
Removing additional heat exchanger
–  Remove rear left side trim → Rep. Gr.70.
–  Pull connector off rear warm air blower -V47-, rear temperature flap control motor -V137- and series resistance for warm air blower -N72-.
–  Clamp off connecting hoses close to heat exchanger with hose clips and then pull off connecting hoses.
–  Unscrew the four bolts -arrows-.
–  If the vehicle is equipped with a 2nd evaporator → Chapter.
  Note
Cooling system is pressurized when engine is warm. If necessary, release pressure before carrying out repairs.

Removing and installing rear temperature flap control motor -V137-
–  Remove rear left side trim → Rep. Gr.70.
–  Separate connector -1- and remove bolts -2-.
–  Pull out rear temperature flap control motor -V137--3-.

Replacing series resistor for warm air blower -N72-
–  Remove rear left side trim → Rep. Gr.70.
–  Separate connector -1- and remove bolt -2-.
