| Working on the refrigerant circuit |
| Work on the refrigerant circuit should only be carried out in well ventilated areas. At the same time, ensure absolutely that within a radius of 5 meters there are no mechanic pits, wells or cellar entrances. Turn on all ventilation equipment. |
| The refrigeration agent that leaks into the air is colourless, odourless and is also more dense than air and thus displaces the oxygen. If, despite taking the necessary precautions, there is a leak of refrigerant, there is a danger of asphyxia without any warning, especially in insufficiently ventilated areas or in mechanics pits. |
Note | The mixture of gas and air which forms when refrigerant gas escapes must not be inhaled. Use must be made of suitable workshop extractors. |
| Never carry out any welding work of any kind on or near the air conditioning system if it still contains refrigerant. The same applies to all vehicles if there is a risk of heating elements of the air conditioning system. |
| Due to heating, there will be an extreme pressure build up in the air conditioning installation which could lead to an explosion of the system. |
Note | No damaged or non-airtight part of the air conditioning may be repaired using welding and they must be replaced by new parts. |
| When servicing air conditioner, all open components and pipe connections are to be immediately re-sealed. |
| Moisture will penetrate the air conditioner component if they are left open for a long period. If this is the case, air conditioners cannot be re-filled without having to replace parts of the system. |
