16 - heater element for additional air heater -Z35- with Additional air heater control unit -J604-
q   There are different versions of additional air heaters: In vehicles with a diesel engine that have been built from 2006 (smooth conversion), the heater element for additional air heater -Z35- is activated via the additional air heating control unit -J604-. In vehicles with a diesel engine that have been built from 2006 (smooth conversion), a 3-stage heater element for supplementary air heater -Z35- is fitted; a high temperature relay -J360- and a low temperature relay -J359- are fitted; this element is activated by the respective engine control unit via relays and → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations.
q   Vehicles with a Diesel engine and the extra equipment for „independent heating“ also now carry a heating element for additional heating -Z35- In the future (introduction pending) these vehicles will not carry the heating element for additional heating -Z35-(the„independent heating“ will run the operation of the „additional heating“) → independent heating; Rep. gr.01
q   Check the operation of the control unit for the additional air heating -J604-, carry out self-diagnosis.
q   Removing and fitting → Chapter
