Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Torque wrench kit -SAT 8010-, see equivalent → Anchor
  L00-10226
t  Hose clamp -U-30042-, see equivalent → Anchor
Oil for the hydraulic circuits → Electronic spare parts catalogue (ETKA).
Detaching
–  Disconnect the battery earth strap.
  Note
Observe the safety measures to be adopted when disconnecting the battery → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27
–  Remove engine cover → Booklet2.
–  Remove the air filter body, breather hose and air duct hoses → Rep. gr.24 and → Rep. gr.23.

–  Remove the battery → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27.
–  Remove battery tray -arrows- and remove from vehicle.
  Note
When performing the following operations, care must be taken not to spill brake fluid onto the side member or gearbox. If fluid comes into contact with them, the affected area must be thoroughly cleaned.

–  Choke the supply hose going to the master cylinder with the pressure tool -U-30042-.
–  Remove pipe and hose assembly from master cylinder → Fig.

Removing the pipe / hose assembly from the clutch master cylinder
–  To remove, the safety fastener must be released -3- with a screwdriver, and the pipe and hose assembly uncoupled -1- from the master cylinder -4-.

Remove pipe and hose lines of the clutch slave cylinder.
–  Remove bracket -B- from gearbox and detach it from pipe/hose assembly -A-.
–  Fit a lint-free cloth under the clutch slave cylinder.

–  Remove the safety fastener -A- which secures the hose and pipe assembly from the clutch slave cylinder up to the limit.
–  Remove the hose and pipe assembly -B- from the clutch slave cylinder and close it.
–  Remove the hose / metal pipe.
  Note
Do not press on the clutch pedal following the removal of the pipe and hose assembly.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse sequence; note the following:

t  Replace the seal -2-.
t  Use oil for the hydraulic circuits → Electronic spare parts catalogue (ETKA).
t  Secure the connecting pieces of the hose lines with securing clips → Electronic spare parts catalogue (ETKA).
–  Press in pipe and hose assembly -1- with seal -2- in slave cylinder and in clutch master cylinder -4- until safety fastener -3- is audibly secured.
–  Pull pipe and hose assembly to check it is properly secured.
–  Bleed air from hydraulic clutch system → Chapter.
–  Install battery → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27.
