Engine oil pressure: checking

The oil pressure is checked with the -V.A.G 1342- kit.

–	Connect the kit (previous paragraph) and increase the number of engine revolutions.

At 2000 rpm and an oil temperature of 80 °C the oil pressure should be at least 2.0 bar.

In order to make the connections, the -V.A.G 1594 A- auxilliary set of measurement cables may be used.

At a higher number of revolutions the oil pressure must not exceed 7.0 bar. If necessary, replace the oil pump cover with the pressure relief valve.

Special tools and workshop equipment required

t	Turning tool -U-30043-

Replacement

–	Remove the oil filter with the -U-30043- tool.

–	Apply -AMV 188 001 02- on the contact surfaces with the support of the filter, by the outside part of the gasket.

–	For fitting, observe the instructions written on the filter itself.

–	Tighten the cartridge by hand.
