Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Collecting tray -T20173-, see equivalent → Anchor
Removing
l  Engine cold.
–  Open filler cap on coolant expansion tank briefly and allow residual pressure in cooling system to dissipate.

–  Detach the outer -1- and inner -2- engine covers, by pulling them evenly upwards.
–  Remove the air filter housing → Chapter.

–  Separate the connector -arrow- of the coolant temperature sender -G62-.
  Note
Place a cloth underneath connection to catch escaping coolant.
–  Pull off retaining clip -2- and pull the coolant temperature sender -G62- out of the connecting support.
Installing
Installation is carried out in reverse order, noting the following:

t  Renew O-ring.
t  Insert new coolant temperature sender -G62- into connection immediately to prevent the coolant from escaping.
t  Hose connections and air pipes and hoses must be free from oil and grease before fitting.
t  Secure all hose connections with the correct type of hose clips (same as original equipment) → Electronic parts catalogue.
–  Install air cleaner housing → Chapter.
–  Check coolant level → Anchor.
