Rules for cleanliness
When working on the fuel supply/injection system, pay careful attention to the following „rules of cleanliness“:
l  Thoroughly clean all joints and connections and the surrounding areas before dismantling.
l  Place removed parts on a clean surface and cover them up. Use only lint-free cloths.
l  If repairs cannot be completed in one session, all parts and components that are left open should be covered or stored with the greatest of care
l  Only fit clean components: only remove replacement parts from packaging immediately prior to installation.
l  Do not use parts that have been stored loose (e.g. in tool boxes etc.).
l  If the system is open: Avoid using compressed air when possible. Do not move the vehicle unless absolutely necessary.
l  Also, be extremely careful not to spill petrol on the coolant hoses. If necessary, immediately clean the tubes. Damaged hoses must be replaced.
