Checking oil pressure switch
Checking oil pressure switch
Test prerequisites
l  Engine oil okay, check → Chapter
l  Engine oil temperature: at least 80 °C (the cooler fan must have run once)
  Note
Checking operation of and servicing visual and acoustic oil pressure gauge → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations
   
–  Remove oil pressure switch -F1- → Item»green insulation« and screw into tester.
–  Screw tester into cylinder head in place of oil pressure switch.
–  Connect brown wire of tester to earth (-).
–  Connect voltage tester -V.A.G 1527 B- using auxiliary cables from -V.A.G 1594 A- to battery positive (+) and oil pressure switch. LED should not light up.
–  Start engine and increase revolutions slowly. At 0.3 ... 0.6 bar, the LED must light up; otherwise renew oil pressure switch.
