Bracket for auxiliary units: Removing and installing. Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter. Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Torque wrench -VAG 1331-, see equivalent → Anchor.

t  counterhold -T10038-, see equivalent → Anchor »Carry out the following work sequence« Removal: –  Remove high-pressure pump → Chapter.

–  Remove the generator → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27. Vehicles with air conditioner   WARNING The air conditioner refrigerant circuit must not be opened. –  Unscrew the air conditioning compressor from the bracket for the ancillaries and attach to the lock carrier. All other vehicles continued

–  Unbolt idler rollers -1 + 2-, unscrew bolt -arrow- for toothed belt guard.

–  Undo the securing bolt of the engine assembly -3-.

–  Extract bolts -6... 1- and remove and install ancillary bracket. Installation Specified torques and installation sequence → Chapter. Installation is in the reverse sequence of removal. Note the following: t  Check if dowel sleeves are fitted in the mount for ancillaries and replace missing dowel sleeves if necessary. t  Renew all bolts to be tightened with further turning angle. t  Tack engine bracket bolt before tightening ancillary bracket securing bolt.

–  Tighten the securing bolts in the following order: -1 ... 6-.

–  Renew and tighten bolt for engine bracket -3- → Chapter. –  Install high-pressure pump → Chapter. –  Install toothed belt (adjust valve timing) → Chapter. –  Install alternator → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27. –  Loosen the air conditioning compressor from the lock carrier and fit on the mount for ancillaries. –  Filling/bleeding high-pressure pump/fuel system → Chapter.
