»Carry out the following work sequence«
–  Remove poly V-belt → Chapter.
–  Remove toothed belt → Chapter.
   
–  Crankshaft sprocket. Immobilise the notched belt pulley using the counterhold -3415- for this purpose.
–  Drain the engine oil.
–  Remove sump → Chapter.
–  Unscrew front sealing flange.
–  Detach sealing flange; if necessary, release by tapping gently with a rubber-headed hammer.
  WARNING
Proceed with extreme caution. The rubber seal on the sealing flange may be damaged.
When the rubber seal on the sealing flange may is damaged: Renewing sealing flange → Chapter
–  Eliminate the sealant residue from cylinder block, using a flat rasp.
–  The sealing surfaces must be free of oil and grease.
