Safety precautions
  WARNING
When doing any repair work, especially in the engine compartment, pay attention to the following due to the cramped conditions:
t  Route all the various lines and electrical wiring so that they are in their original positions.
t  e.g. for fuel, hydraulics, activated charcoal filter system, coolant and refrigerant, brake fluid, vacuum.
t  Ensure that there is sufficient clearance to all moving or hot components.
  WARNING
Risk of injury due to automatic engine start on vehicles with Start-Stop system.
t  Vehicles with activated Start-Stop system (indicated by message displayed in dash panel), engine can start automatically as required.
t  Therefore, ensure that the Start-Stop system is deactivated when working on vehicle (switch ignition off, switch ignition on again as required).
Please note the following if test equipment has to be used during a test drive:
t  Test and measuring instruments must always be secured to rear seat and operated by a second person.
To avoid any risk of injuries to persons and/or the destruction of the injection and glow plug system, the following must be noted
t  The ignition must be switched off before connecting or disconnecting injection or glow plug system wiring or tester cables.
t  The battery should only be disconnected and reconnected with ignition switched off.
