Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Camshaft clamp -T10123-
  W00-1235
t  Fastening bolt -T10121-
Test sequence
–  Remove air filter → Chapter.

–  Remove the camshaft housing cover -arrows-.

–  Remove the engine speed sender -G28- → Chapter.

–  Turn the crankshaft with the securing bolt of the pulley in engine rotation direction until the grooves on both camshafts are horizontal.

–  The camshaft fasteners -T10123- must enter the camshafts easily.
–  Fit both tools tightening the hexagonal bolts by hand -M6-.

–  Now lock the crankshaft by inserting the fastening bolt -T10121- in the flywheel drill hole.
  Note
If it is not possible to insert the fastening bolt -T10121- remove the camshaft fastening pins -T10123- from the camshafts. Turn the crankshaft in the direction of engine rotation (360º) and repeat the operation.
If it is not possible to insert both locking tools:
–  Adjust valve timing → Chapter.
If it is possible to insert both locking tools:
–  Remove the locking tools from their housing in the drill holes and remount the sensor and cover.
–  Install air filter → Chapter.
