Check distribution timing, engine code BBM Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Fastening bolt -T10120-

t  Tools -T10121-

Checking sequence

–  Remove the Hall sender -G40--arrow-.

–  Remove the engine speed sender -G28--arrow-.

–  Turn the crankshaft with the securing bolt of the pulley in engine rotation direction until the aperture for the Hall sender -G40- shows the slot of the camshaft.

–  The fastening bolt -T10120- should be inserted easily in the camshaft.

–  Lock the crankshaft fitting the tool -T10121- in the aperture of the engine speed sensor -G28-.   Note If the counterhold -T10121- cannot fit, remove the fastening bolt -T10120- from the camshaft. Turn the crankshaft in the direction of engine rotation (360º) and repeat the operation. If both securing tools cannot be fitted: –  Adjust distribution timing → Chapter. If both securing tools can be fitted: –  Remove the counterholds from their housings in the apertures and refit the two sensors. Further assembly is basically the reverse of the dismantling sequence.
