| Remove the oil pressure switch -F1- → Item and screw into oil pressure tester -VAG 1342-. |

| Screw oil pressure tester -VAG 1342- into the cylinder head in place of the oil pressure switch -F1-. |
| –
| Connect brown wire of tester to earth (-). |
| –
| Connect voltage tester -VAG 1527B- with auxiliary cables from the auxiliary cable kit -VAG 1594C- to positive of battery (+) and to oil pressure switch. LED should not light up. |
| –
| If the LED lights up, replace oil pressure switch -F1-. |
| If the LED does not light up: |
| –
| Start engine and increase revolutions slowly. The LED must light-up when an overpressure between 0.3 ... and 0.7 bar a luminous diode should light up. If not, replace the oil pressure switch -F1- |
| –
| Increase engine speed further. At 2000 rpm and an oil temperature of 80℃, the oil must have a minimum pressure of 2 bar. |
| At higher engine speed, the oil pressure must not exceed 7 bar. If necessary, replace the oil pump with the relief valve |
