Check the oil pressure and oil pressure switch -F1-
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Oil pressure tester -VAG 1342-
t  Pressure tester -VAG 1527B-
t  Auxiliary cable kit -VAG 1594C-

  Note
Checking operation of and servicing visual and acoustic oil pressure gauge → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations
Checking sequence

–  Remove the oil pressure switch -F1- → Item and screw into oil pressure tester -VAG 1342-.
–  Screw oil pressure tester -VAG 1342- into the cylinder head in place of the oil pressure switch -F1-.
–  Connect brown wire of tester to earth (-).
–  Connect voltage tester -VAG 1527B- with auxiliary cables from the auxiliary cable kit -VAG 1594C- to positive of battery (+) and to oil pressure switch. LED should not light up.
–  If the LED lights up, replace oil pressure switch -F1-.
If the LED does not light up:
–  Start engine and increase revolutions slowly. The LED must light-up when an overpressure between 0.3 ... and 0.7 bar a luminous diode should light up. If not, replace the oil pressure switch -F1-
–  Increase engine speed further. At 2000 rpm and an oil temperature of 80℃, the oil must have a minimum pressure of 2 bar.
At higher engine speed, the oil pressure must not exceed 7 bar. If necessary, replace the oil pump with the relief valve
