t  Universal dial gauge bracket -VW 387-

Camshaft, checking axial play
Perform measurements with support elements and camshaft housing removed.
–  Apply thumb pressure to centre camshaft bearing and move camshaft back and forth to check axial play.
Wear limit: max. 0.20 mm.

Valves are not to be machined. Only lapping-in is permitted.
