t  Always renew seals and O-rings
1 - 20 Nm + 1/4 turn (90°) further
q   Renew
2 - Injection pump sprocket
q   Removing → Chapter
3 - Nut
q   For hub
q   Do not loosen. Otherwise the injection pump basic setting may be altered and this cannot be reset with normal workshop equipment
4 - Pipe union, 25 Nm
q   For supply pipe
q   From fuel filter
5 - Injection pump
q   With quantity adjuster (metering)
q   With quantity adjuster -N146-
q   With modulating piston movement sender -G149-
q   With fuel temperature sender
6 - fuel temperature sender -N109-, 40 Nm
7 - Pipe union
q   For return pipe
8 - Return pipe
q   To control valve/fuel filter
9 - 25 Nm
10 - Injector pipes
q   Tighten to 25 Nm
q   Remove with -U-40072-
q   Always remove pipework complete
q   Do not alter shape
11 - Pipe union
q   With pressure valve
12 - 25 Nm
13 - Injector
q   For 3rd cylinder with needle lift sender -G80-
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
q   Servicing → Chapter
14 - 20 Nm
15 - Retainer
16 - Mounting
17 - Heat insulation seal
q   Renew
18 - 10 Nm
19 - Commencement of injection valve -N108-
q   Checking → VAS 5051
20 - Strainer
21 - O-Ring
q   Renew
22 - 25 Nm
23 - Timing control cover
q   If leaking, replace O-ring → Chapter
24 - Sleeve
q   With nut
25 - Console
q   Removing and installing → Rep. Gr.87
