| Check first whether the vehicle has a coded radio, in which case the anti-theft coding must be checked. |

| The engine is removed forwards, together with the gearbox. |

| With the ignition off, remove the ground strip from the battery. |
–
| All cable holders that are opened or cut when the engine is removed must be set in the same position when the engine is refitted. |

| Remove the engine protector. |
–
| Remove the whole air filter. |
–
| Separate fuel supply and return lines from the fuel filter. |
–
| Extract the connector from the thermal switch connector and from the radiator fan. |
–
| Remove the heater coolant flexible pipes, cylinder head and radiator from the engine using the band clamp pliers -T20029-. |
–
| Disconnect the flexible depression and deairing pipes from theengine. |
–
| Separate all the electrical cables from the gearbox, alternator, compressor and starter motor and leave open. |
–
| Disconnect all necessary electric cables from the engine and leave to one side. |
–
| Unscrew and suspend the power steering reserve tank. |
–
| Remove the vibration pulley/damper from the crankshaft. |
–
| Remove the rear counterweight from the unit holder. |
–
| Remove the right articulated half-shaft and separate the left articulated half-shaft from the gearbox → Running gear; Rep. Gr.40 |

| Separate the front exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold → Rep. Gr.26 |

| Unscrew the fixing clamps for the power steering pressure pipe. |

| Remove the pulley from the power steering pump. To do this, immobilise the pulley with the sounter-suuport -U-40011-. |

| Remove the bolts fixing the fin pump for the power steering and fix with wire to the engine support or unit carrier; the flexible pipes are connected → Running gear; Rep. Gr.48 |
