Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Check the-T10007- antifreeze protection
t  Pliers for elastic clamps -T20029-
t  Collector tray -V.A.G 1306-
t  Torque wrench -SAT 8010-

Removing
  Note!
Always replace the seals and o rings.
–  Remove the coolant → Chapter.
   
–  Disconnect the flexible coolant pipe from the connection sleeve -2-.
–  Unscrew the fixing bolts -1- from the connection sleeve -2- and remove the connection sleeve -2- with the coolant thermostat -4-.
–  Turn the coolant thermostat -4- 1/4 turn (90°) to the left and remove it from the connection sleeve -2-.
Fitting
Fit in reverse order to removal, observing the following:
–  Dampen the new o ring -3- with coolant.
–  Fit the coolant thermostat -4- in the connection sleeve -2- and turn 1/4 turn (90°) to the right.
  Note!
The stays of the thermostat must be almost vertical.
–  House the connection sleeve -2- with the coolant thermostat -4- in the engine block.
  A19-0027
–  Tighten the fixing bolts -1-.
   Torque: 15 Nm
–  Load coolant → Chapter.
