  Note!
Cylinder heads with cracks between the valve seats may be used without reducing engine life, provided the cracks are small and not more than 0.5 mm wide.
1 - Bearing cap
q   Installation position → Fig.
q   Installation sequence → Chapter, removing and installing camshaft
2 - 20 Nm
3 - Camshaft
q   Checking axial clearance → Fig.

q   Checking radial clearance with plastigage Wear limit: 0.11 mm
q   Run-out: max. 0.01 mm

q   Do not interchange

Checking camshaft axial clearance
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Universal dial gauge bracket -T20020-
t  Dial gauge
Check with bucket tappets removed and with first and last bearing caps fitted.
Wear limit: max. 0.15 mm

Note offset. Before installing camshaft fit bearing caps and determine fitting position.
