Oil pressure and oil pressure contact: checking
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Oil checking pressure gauge -V.A.G 1342-
t  Diode lamp tester -V.A.G 1527B-
t  Auxiliary measuring set -V.A.G 1594C-

  Note!
Checking the working and repair of the optical and acoustic oil pressure indicators: → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations
Checking process

–  Remove the oil pressure switch -F1- and screw it into the -V.A.G 1342- checker.
–  Screw the checker into the oil filter support, in the place of the oil pressure switch.
–  Connect the brown cable of the checker to ground (-).
–  Connect the -V.A.G 1527B- diode lamp with the auxiliary cables of the -V.A.G 1594C- to battery positive (+) and to the oil pressure switch.
–  Start the engine and slowly increase the revolutions. At between 0,55…0,85 bar overpressure, the luminous diode should light, otherwise, replace the oil pressure switch.
–  Continue to increase the revolutions, to 2,000/min and, when the oil is at a temperature of 80 °C, the oil pressure should be at least 2.0 bar.
At higher speeds, the oil pressure should not exceed 7.0 bar. If necessary, replace the oil pump cover with the discharge valve.
