| On carrying out work on the fuel supply/injection system, rigorously observe the following “6 rules” of cleaning: |
| t
| Thoroughly clean the connections and their surroundings before releasing. |
| t
| Lay the dismantled pieces on a clean surface and cover them. Do not use cloths with loose ends! |
| t
| If repair work is not carried out immediately, the open components must be covered or stored carefully. |
| t
| Only fit clean components: Take the spares out of their packaging just before assembly. Do not fit components that have been kept out of their packets (for instance, in the toolbox, etc.). |
| t
| When the system is open: If possible, avoid the use of compressed air. If possible, do not move the vehicle. |
| t
| Furthermore, it must be made sure that no diesel is spilt on the flexible coolant pipes. If necessary, clean the flexible pipes immediately. Flexible pipes that are affected must be replaced. |
