Removing
  Note
t  To carry out this work it will be necessary to disconnect the battery earth strap. The vehicle should be checked for a fitted radio. If necessary, obtain radio anti-theft code first.
t  All cable ties which are opened or cut open when removing the cylinder head, must be replaced in the same position when re-installing.
–  With the ignition switched off, disconnect the battery earth strap.
–  Remove air filter → Fig..
–  Remove the toothed belt → Chapter.
–  Remove the camshaft toothed wheel. To do this, immobilise the camshaft by bracing the toothed wheel with retention tool -T20018A-.
–  Separate the bolts securing the rear toothed belt guard of the cylinder head.
  WARNING
Fuel supply hoses are under pressure. Before removing fuel hose connections, wrap a cloth around the connection. Then release pressure by carefully removing the hose.

–  Separate fuel supply hose at the connector in the suspension turret by pressing the locking buttons.
–  Seal the pipes so that the fuel system is not contaminated by dirt etc.
–  Separate the vacuum hose connecting the activated charcoal system to the inlet manifold.
–  Loosen or separate the following components:
t  The vacuum hose to brake servo from inlet manifold.
t  Ignition transformer connector and throttle control unit
t  Injector connectors
t  The engine speed sender connector and the intake air temperature sender or inlet manifold pressure sender
t  The knock sensor double connector (cylinder block, rear part).
t  The coolant temperature sender connector and the oil pressure switch
  S10-0099
–  Pull 3-pin connector off hall sender -arrow-.
–  Completely separate the fuel rail from the cylinder head with all the injectors → Chapter.
–  Drain coolant → Chapter.
–  Pull the clamp which secure the coolant pipe to coolant pump from the thermostat housing.
–  Remove the cylinder head thermostat housing.
–  Remove the front exhaust pipe from exhaust manifold.
–  Remove oil dipstick guide tube.
–  Remove the rest of the electric cables, pipes and necessary connectors from their fixings to the cylinder head.

  N13-0472
–  Using tool -U-30025E-, raise the engine a little by turning spindle -B-.
  Note
Both lifting eyes are located on the cylinder head, therefore an additional bracket must be secured to the cylinder block to support the engine.
–  Bolt up -as shown in the illustration- the -T10014- bracket in the threaded holes in the engine block, coolant pump area.
   Tightening torque: 20 Nm
–  Lift engine slightly using the second spindle -A- until spindle -B- is relieved.
–  Remove spindle -B-.
–  Remove cylinder head cover
  E15-0280
