Removing
  Note
t  Do not rework the sealing surfaces on the cylinder head cover nor on the cylinder.
t  On this cylinder head, the camshaft bearings are integrated in the cylinder head or in the cylinder head cover. Relieve tension on camshaft toothed belt before removing cylinder head cover.
t  If the cylinder head cover has been removed, the camshaft oil seal must be replaced → Chapter.
t  To carry out this work it will be necessary to disconnect the battery earth strap. The vehicle should be checked for a fitted radio. If necessary, obtain radio anti-theft code first.
–  With the ignition switched off, disconnect the battery earth strap.
–  Remove air filter → Fig..
–  Remove the toothed belt → Chapter.
–  Remove the camshaft sprocket. To do this, immobilise the camshaft by bracing the sprocket with retention tool -T20018A-.
–  Separate the bolts securing the rear toothed belt guard of the cylinder head.
–  Separate the bolts securing the ignition transformer to the cylinder head cover.
   
–  Pull 3-pin connector off hall sender -arrow-.
–  Open the cap on the cylinder head cover and remove the protective cover → Item.

–  Loosen the bolts on the cylinder head cover in the sequence given and then remove them, alternating diagonally between the positions -9 and 10-.
–  Carefully remove cylinder head cover.
–  Carefully lift camshaft upwards, remove and place on a clean surface.
–  Remove roller rocker fingers, together with support elements and place on a clean surface.
  Note
Ensure the roller rocker fingers and the support elements are not interchanged
