Air filter removing and installing
Air filter: removing and fitting → Fig.
1 - Air filter lower part
2 - Rubber support
3 - 3 Nm
q   Observe what is indicated in note → Fig.
4 - O-ring
q   Replace if damaged or worn
q   Ensure tight fit
5 - Intake hose
6 - Cover
7 - Air filter upper part
8 - Gasket
q   Replace if damaged or worn
q   Note the fitting position
9 - Filter cartridge

   
Air filter removing and fitting
Removing
–  Separate the air filter housing from its fixings and from the throttle valve control unit, turning in the direction indicated by the arrows.
–  Separate the engine exhaust breather pipe from its fixing to the air filter.
Fitting
–  Install in reverse order, but note the following:

t  In production, self-tapping screws are used to secure the upper part of the air filter housing to the lower part, together with the air intake hose and the intake air temperature/intake manifold pressure sender. When these screws/bolts are loosened or tightened using a power tool the threads in the air filter lower or upper part may be damaged. Thus, if tightening or loosening with power tools the following conditions must be adhered to:
t  maximum revolutions of tool, 200/min
t  maximum tightening torque 3 Nm
