Poly-V belt: removing and fitting

Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Lock pin -T10060-
t  Spanner e/c 16
Work sequence
–  Remove the right soundproofing sump: → Bodywork - fitting work; Rep. Gr.50.
–  Mark the direction of rotation of the Poly-V belt.

–  Turn the tensioner in the direction of the arrow to loosen the Poly-V belt, using the spanner e/c 16.

–  Immobilise the tensioner with lock pin -T10060-.
–  Remove the Poly-V belt.
Fit the Poly-V belt
–  Fit in the reverse order of removal.
  Note!
t  Before fitting the Poly-V belt, check that all groups (alternator, air conditioning compressor, vane pump, etc.) are correctly secured.
t  When fitting the Poly-V belt, check that direction of rotation is the same (for used belts), and that it is fitted correctly of the pulleys.
t  On vehicles without air conditioning, fit the Poly-V belt on the alternator last.
t  On vehicles with air conditioning, fit the Poly-V belt on the air conditioning compressor last.
–  After finishing the work, start the engine and check the functioning of the belt.
