Removing air cleaner → Fig.
1 - Connecting hose
2 - Crankcase breather hose
3 - Air cleaner cover
4 - Filter element
5 - Screw
q   10 Nm
6 - Air cleaner lower part
7 - Spacer sleeve
8 - Gasket
q   Renew if damaged
9 - Rubber grommet
10 - Control flap
q   Check intake air preheating → Chapter
11 - Warm air intake
12 - Air intake connecting piece
13 - Rubber bush

   
Resistance values for coolant temperature sender -G62-
Scale A shows resistance values for temperature range 0…50 °C, and scale B the values for temperature range 50…100 °C.
Examples:
t  30 °C corresponds to a resistance from 1500…2000 Ω
t  80 °C corresponds to a resistance from 275…375 Ω

Resistance values for intake air temperature sender -G42-
Scale A shows resistance values for temperature range 0…50 °C, and scale B the values for temperature range 50…100 °C.
Examples:
t  20 °C corresponds to a resistance from 2340…2680 Ω
t  80 °C corresponds to a resistance from 290…330 Ω

Removing air cleaner
–  Release accelerator cable and earth strap from retainers -arrows-. Then pull off hoses -1- and -2-.
–  Remove bolts -3- and take air cleaner off upwards.
