  Note
In vehicles with a hybrid sump, this is completely separate from its fixing to the engine block.
–  Remove the central and right hand side sound proofing: → Bodywork, exterior fitting work; Repair group 50; Sound proofing: removing.
–  Drain engine oil.
   
–  Detach electrical connector -1- from oil level sender.
–  Unscrew bolts -2- and remove oil return pipe from sump. If necessary, detach support fixing pipe to cylinder block.

–  Unscrew sump/gearbox bolts -arrows-.
–  Slacken bolts -1... 20- diagonally.
  Note
If necessary, unscrew sump bolts using wrench -U-40051A-.
–  Remove oil sump. If necessary, release sump with light strokes of a rubber mallet.
–  Eliminate sealant residue from cylinder block , using a flat rasp.
–  Remove the sealant residues at the oil sump using a rotating brush, e.g. a hand drill machine with plastic brush (wear protective goggles).
  DANGER!
Use protective goggles.
–  Clean sealing surface; must be free of oil and grease.
