–
| Attach the compressed air hose -1- (compressed air supply) to the supercharger system tester -V.A.G 1687-. |
Note If there is a spy hole, drain it using the drain plug -6-. |
–
| Set the pressure to 0.5 bar using the pressure regulation valve -2-. |
Caution The pressure must not exceed 0.5 bar! Excessive pressure may cause damage to the engine. |
|
–
| Open the valve -4- and wait for the test circuit to be filled. If necessary reset the pressure to 0.5 bar. |
–
| Check for leaks in the supercharger system by listening, feeling, using leak-detector spray or with the ultrasound measuring device -V.A.G 1842-. |
Note t
| A small quantity of air escapes through the turbocompressor to the sump. A pressure retention test can therefore not be carried out. |
t
| If a leak is found, consult the notes on the supercharge system for the fitting work to be done → Chapter. |
t
| Before removing the adaptor, depressurize the inspection circuit by releasing the coupling of the adjustable adaptor -1687/1-. |
