–  Connect tester -VAG 1598/31- to control unit cable harness, without connecting engine control unit → Chapter.

–  Check the following wiring for an open circuit or short circuit:

If, after deleting the fault memory, another fault is indicated in the camshaft sensor (Hall sender), despite having been corrected in previous tests, this could be due to the following fault:
–  Hall sender rotor sealing lip twisted.
–  Slacken the Hall sender and check whether the rotor in the camshaft is correctly fitted (if this is not the case, the locking rim is flattened when the securing bolt is screwed in).
–  If position of rotor is OK, check crankshaft/camshaft assignment.
