  WARNING
When doing any repair work, especially in the engine compartment, pay attention to the following due to the cramped conditions:
t  Route all the various lines and electrical wiring so that they are in their original positions.
t  e.g. for fuel, hydraulics, activated charcoal filter system, coolant and refrigerant, brake fluid, vacuum.
t  Ensure that there is sufficient clearance to all moving or hot components.
  Note
t  When the engine is hot the cooling system is under pressure. If necessary, relieve pressure before commencing repair work.
t  Secure all hose connections with the correct type of hose clips (same as original equipment) → Parts catalogue.
t  The use of a hose clip pliers -VAS 6499- is recommended for fitting spring-type hose clips.
t  Renew gaskets and seals.
t  The arrow markings on the coolant pipes and on the ends of the hoses must be aligned with each other.
t  Perform cooling system leakage check with cooling system tester -VAG 1274B-, the adaptor -VAG 1274/8- and the adaptor -VAG 1274/9-.
