  Note
t  Removing and installing exhaust manifold → Chapter.
t  After working on the exhaust system, ensure that the system is not under stress and that there is sufficient clearance to the bodywork.
t  If necessary, loosen double clamp and align silencer and exhaust pipe so that sufficient clearance is maintained to the bodywork and the support rings are evenly loaded.
t  The flexible joint in the front exhaust pipe must not be bent more than 10° - otherwise it can be damaged.
t  Renew self-locking nuts.
  Note
t  EU4 vehicles have a catalytic converter instead of a particulate filter.
t  The following components are not installed on EU4 vehicles.
t  Differential pressure sender -G 505-
t  Exhaust gas temperature sender 3 -G 495-
t  Exhaust gas temperature sender 4 -G 648-
t  Lambda probe -G 39-
t  Spring retainer
   
1 - Oxidizing catalytic converter
q   removing and fitting → Chapter
2 - Seal
q   Replace
q   Note fitting position:
3 - Clip
q   7 Nm
4 - Rubber mountings
5 - 25 Nm
6 - 25 Nm
7 - Spring retainer

  Note
The mounting on the front section of the exhaust pipe with particle filter / catalytic converter should not be bent by more than 10° otherwise there is a risk of damage.
   
If the catalytic converter should be reinstalled, the separating element on the front section of the exhaust pipe must always be protected using a transport lock -T10403--arrow-.
