Installation
  Note
t  Before installing subframe with steering box ensure that seal on steering box contacts the assembly plate without kinks. Ensure opening to footwell is correctly sealed. Otherwise water could leak in and/or there will be more noise.
t  Renew seals, self-locking nuts and clip for catalytic converter.
t  All cable ties must be installed in their same place again.
   
Check fitting position of seal -arrow- (steering donut).
Install in reverse order of removal; note the following:
–  Renew gasket/seals → Item.

Adhere to assembly sequence for catalytic converter with non-engine-mounted particulate filter (right-hand drive vehicles)
t  1. Mounting of catalytic converter with non-engine-mounted particulate filter (right-hand drive vehicles) -1- on turbocharger, clamp -2- (positioning only)
t  2. Bracket on cylinder block with nuts -4- + -6- (only positioning). Bolts -5- + -7- also (positioning)
t  3. Tightening clamp -2- to turbocharger 7 Nm
t  4. Tightening left nut -6- to crankcase 25 Nm
t  5. Tightening right nut -4- to crankcase 25 Nm
t  6. Tightening left bolt -7- of bracket to diesel particulate filter 25 Nm
t  7. Tightening right bolt -5- of bracket to diesel particulate filter 25 Nm

Tightening torque of the heat protection plate bolts, drive shaft -1-: 35 Nm.
Specified torque for exhaust temperature sender/catalytic converter with non-engine-mounted particulate filter (right-hand drive vehicles) → Chapter
–  Aligning exhaust system free of stress → Chapter.
When replacing the particulate filter
–  After replacing front exhaust pipe, perform adaptation in operating mode „Guided functions“ → Vehicle diagnostic tester.
