| Pull out retaining clip -arrow- for coolant hose and remove coolant hose from quick-release coupling of radiator. |

| To drain coolant from engine also remove coolant hoses from oil cooler. |
Note | Observe environmental regulations for disposal. |
| If the cooling system was filled with G11 anti-freeze -coloured green-: |

| The cooling system must be flushed out as follows before refitting the coolant hoses and filling with new coolant G 12 plus-plus -coloured lilac-: |

| Remove as much coolant from cooling system as possible. Blow into coolant expansion tank with compressed air for this. |
| –
| Connect hoses, fill cooling system with plain water and refit cap. |
| –
| Run engine at idling speed for approx. 2 minutes. |
| –
| Drain coolant and blow out the cooling system again with compressed air. |
