Screw the oil pressure tester -VAG 1342- into the hole for oil pressure switch.
–
Screw the oil pressure switch -2- into the oil pressure tester -V.A.G 1342-.
–
Connect brown wire -1- of tester to earth (-).
–
Connect voltage tester -V.A.G 1527 B- with test leads from adapter set -VAG 1594 C- to oil pressure switch and battery positive (+).
The diode should not light. |
–
If the LED lights up, replace oil pressure switch -F1-.
–
Start engine and slowly increase engine speed.
–
The LED should light up between 0.55 ...0.85 bar of overpressure; if not replace oil pressure switch -F1-.
–
Increase engine speed further. At 2000 rpm and an oil temperature of 80°C, the oil must have a min. pressure of 2.0 bar.
At a higher engine speed, the oil pressure should not rise above 7.0 bar; if so remove the oil pump → Chapter and check the discharge valve. |
