t  Fitting position of fuel delivery unit flange → Fig.

1 - Fuel tank plug
2 - 1.5 Nm
3 - Filler cap set
q   Removing and installing → Bodywork, exterior fitting work; Rep. Gr.55
4 - Gravity/overload valve
q   To get access to the gravitational/overfill valve, remove the fuel tank cover unit → Bodywork, exterior fitting work; Rep. Gr.55
q   For removal, undo the securing tab and push the inlet valve out, upwards.
q   Check valve flow continuity. Vertical: open, Valve inclined by 45°: closed.
5 - Earth connection
q   Check for secure seating.
6 - 10 Nm
7 - Purge tube
q   Covered on the upper part by the fuel tank
q   Check for secure seating.
8 - 25 Nm
9 - Fuel tank
q   When removing, support using the hydraulic jack -SAT 1040-
q   removing and fitting → Chapter
10 - tension belt
11 - Fuel delivery unit
q   Note the fitting position of the bracket on the fuel tank → Fig.
q   removing and fitting → Chapter
q   Fuel pump: Checking → Chapter
q   With fuel level indicator sender -G-
q   Separating and fitting the fuel level sender → Chapter
q   Clean strainer if dirty
12 - Seal
q   If this is damaged, replace it
q   Moisten with fuel for installation
13 - Connection nut
q   Removing and installing with the rotation tool -U-40055A-
14 - Supply pipe
q   To fuel filter → Item
q   Partly covered by the fuel tank
q   Check for secure seating.
q   Black colour
q   For releasing the bracket, push the release buttons on the junction element
15 - Return pipe
q   To fuel radiator → Chapter
q   Blue colour or blue mark
q   Partly covered by the fuel tank
q   Check for secure seating.
q   For releasing the bracket, push the release buttons on the junction element
16 - Vent valve
q   check → Fig.
q   To get access to the breather valve, remove the fuel tank cover unit → Bodywork, exterior fitting work; Rep. Gr.55
q   Before fitting, unscrew the cap
17 - O-ring
q   If this is damaged, replace it

   
Fitting position of fuel delivery unit flange
Mark on flange must align with mark on fuel tank -arrows-.
Blue or blue marked return pipe -1- to connection with identification R
Black supply pipe -2- to connection identified with a V.
  Note
After installing fuel delivery unit flange, check that the supply, return and breather pipes are still clipped onto fuel tank.

Checking breather valve
Lever in rest position: closed.
Lever pressed in the -direction of the arrow-: open.

Before installing vent valve remove fuel tank cap.
